Biography

Peter Auty was born in 1969 in Richmond, North Riding of Yorkshire, England. He is an actor, known for Uusi päivä (2010), Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil (2011) and Zayn & Zhavia Ward: A Whole New World (2019).

Continues to be an opera singing star into adulthood.

He was paid only £300 for his version of "Walking in the Air" for The Snowman (1982), and was left uncredited due to the rush to get the film released. In 2002 his name was added to the credits.

At the time it didn't really bother me that everyone thought it was Aled. I was quite happy to be anonymous, but I think my mum and dad were quite miffed on my behalf. But it's great to have my name on the film after all these years. I'm really pleased people will now recognise it was me.

[on "The Snowman"] I don't watch it religiously every year, if I happen to turn the television on and it happens to be on, I'll watch it nostalgically. I know the film so well now so I must have seen it a few times and I know the music so well, having performed it quite a few times. I don't mind watching again, but you know, you can only watch It's a Wonderful Life so many times.
