F. Britten Austin was born on May 8, 1885 in Mile End, London, England, UK. He was a writer, known for The Last Outpost (1935), Buried Treasure (1921) and Orson Welles Great Mysteries (1973). He was married to Ethel King and Edith Abbot. He died on March 12, 1941 in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England, UK.

Had correctly predicted the future of mechanized war well before the outbreak of World War Two.

Enlisted in the London Rifle Brigade on 4 August 1914, the day war was declared on Germany. By war's end he would reach the rank of captain.

Much of his later work would be influenced by his wartime experiences.
