Spring Aspers is President of Music, Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group, where she is responsible for all music initiatives including development, production and promotion. In her position, Spring works with filmmakers to select songs, artists and composers for Sony Pictures’ films. Most recently, she oversaw the creative on the soundtrack for KPop Demon Hunters, which has won an Oscar as well as a Grammy for its key song ‘Golden’, landing the Song For Visual Media award, historically becoming the first KPop song to win one ever. The overall soundtrack is a worldwide sensation, continuing to dominate global charts. Debuting at #8 on Billboard Top 200 and reaching a peak of #1, it is the highest charting soundtrack of 2025 having topped Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music U.S. charts, with over 7 billion global streams. The soundtrack also becomes the fifth in history to have four Hot 100 top 10s at all, and the first since Waiting To Exhale spun off a record five in 1995-96. Nine songs from the film have charted on the Billboard Hot 100 with lead single "Golden" claiming #1 on Billboard Global 200 chart and #1 on Billboard US Hot 100 and continues to break music records. KPop Demon Hunters has won two Golden Globes awards for Best Motion Picture - Animated and Best Original Song - Motion Picture for "Golden," nominated for two Oscars: Best Animated Picture and Best Original Song for "Golden," and nominated for 5 Grammy awards including Song of the Year for "Golden". Spring was nominated as the executive music producer for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. Spring was also included in Variety’s 2025 Hitmakers Impact Report for her deep involvement in overseeing and creating the film’s music. In addition to KPop Demon Hunters, Spring has worked on Anyone But You by Will Gluck, which features the nearly 20-year-old cult song, "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield, which hit Spotify’s 200 chart and increased 156% in streams; oversaw the release of "RITMO" from Bad Boys for Life, which was #1 on Billboard’s 2020 year-end Hot Latin Songs chart, 2x Platinum, and has over 1 billion all-time YouTube video views; and enlisted Metro Boomin to executive produce the acclaimed soundtrack for the Academy Award-nominated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which received a Billboard Music Award nomination for Top Soundtrack, spawning multiple platinum and gold singles. For the Academy Award-winning film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, she was directly responsible for pursuing Post Malone and Swae Lee to write and record the song "Sunflower." Since release, "Sunflower" reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, was nominated for Grammy’s Record of the Year and became the first-ever recording to be certified 2x Diamond. It was also the first to reach RIAA’s 20 x Platinum status. As well, Spring worked with Taylor Swift on Where the Crawdads Sing, which featured Swift’s original song "Carolina", in both the film and embedded in the score, which received Golden Globe and Grammy nominations. For the Academy Award winning film Little Women, she worked with director Greta Gerwig and composer Alexandre Desplat on the film’s Academy Award nominated score. For Venom, Spring hired Eminem to contribute the title track, which was certified 4x Platinum with over 2 billion streams. She most recently worked with Jelly Roll to create the key song for the Sony Animated film "GOAT." She joined Sony Pictures in 2009 as Executive Vice President shepherding Diane Warren’s Golden Globe-winning song "You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me" from Burlesque and John Legend’s Grammy-nominated song "Tonight (Best You Ever Had)" from Think Like a Man. Spring was instrumental in hiring Mariah Carey and Marc Shaiman to write the Golden Globe-nominated song "The Star" from the Sony Animated film The Star. She worked with Angelique Kidjo and Jessy Wilson on "Keep Rising" for The Woman King, which also received a Grammy nomination. Spring is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. She is the 2026 LACO Gala Honoree supporting the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. Previously, Spring was Senior Vice President of A&R/Soundtracks at Island/Def Jam Recordings where she created and ran the department through multiple regimes with much success, working with artists such as The Killers, Justin Bieber, Ludacris, Bon Jovi, LL Cool J, Mariah Carey, Fall Out Boy, Jay Z, Rihanna, Lionel Richie, Lucinda Williams, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson among many others . At Island/Def Jam, she produced the soundtrack for the 2002 Spider-Man film, which included the Grammy-nominated worldwide hit "Hero" by Nickelback. Prior to her time at Island/Def Jam, Spring ran her own independent music supervision company where she worked with filmmakers such as Ice Cube. Originally from Minnesota, New Mexico and New York, she is a Santa Monica College and UCLA alumnus and serves on Sony Pictures’ Action Council and Female Leadership Initiative. She is also Vice Chair of the SMC Foundation Board where she has served for well over a decade, working to help students succeed.
