She had boarding school education and always wanted to act, but her parents were against it. She did a grooming course in modeling during school holidays and was subsequently offered a modeling course. Her parents refused to let her attend a drama school in London, so she accepted the modeling course in Manchester and established herself as a successful model. Her first television appearance was when she was at school and was voted 'Britain's Most Glamorous Schoolgirl'. Her first real break came when she was contracted as the resident hostess on 'Sale of the Century', a popular television show. She later extended her talents to acting, appearing in such as 'Gems' and 'Allo, Allo'.
