- Morten Arnfred debuted as a feature film director in 1976 and made the youth film Mig og Charly in 1978.
- His 1983 film Der er et yndigt land was entered into the 33rd Berlin International Film Festival, where it won an Honourable Mention.
- Arnfred made his mark as early as 1976 when he, together with Lasse Nielsen, created Maybe We Could. The film helped kick-start the youth film wave and revealed his talent as a personal director.
- Morten Arnfred was a Danish film director, screenwriter, editor and teacher. He played a central role in the youth films of the 70s and 80s, contributed to the new Danish film wave in the 90s under Lars von Trier and was part of the breakthrough for Danish television series fiction at the end of the decade.
- He was also co-director of the TV series Riget (1994) and Riget II (1997) together with Lars von Trier and has since been co-writer and director of several Danish TV series such as TAXA , Hotellet , Anna Pihl , Forbrydelsen and Broen (Borgen) .
