Biography

Niels Arestrup was born on February 8, 1949 in Montreuil, Seine [now Seine-Saint-Denis], France. He was an actor and writer, known for A Prophet (2009), War Horse (2011) and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007). He was married to Isabelle Le Nouvel. He died on December 1, 2024 in Ville d'Avray, Hauts-de-Seine, France.

As of 2014, he's the only winner of 3 Best Supporting Actor Césars.

In 2012 he became father of twins, a girl and a boy.
