Shûsaku Arakawa was born on July 6, 1936 in Nagoya, Japan. He was a director and writer, known for For Example: A Critique of Never (1971), Why Not: A Serenade of Eschatological Ecology (1970) and N.N. (1969). He was married to Madeline Gins. He died on May 18, 2010 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA.
