Appermont competed in Dancing on Ice in 2006. This show earned him the nickname "Lucky Luc" because he was saved twice by the audience after receiving the worst ratings of all the contestants from the judges. In the third show, he and his skating partner Ellen Mareels were eliminated after he explicitly requested that they no longer vote for him.

In the 1970s, he presented the Sunday afternoon program "Binnen en buiten" (Inside and Outside) for the Flemish public broadcaster BRT. He subsequently presented several programs in collaboration with the Belgian National Lottery, including "Het staat in de sterren geschreven" (It's Written in the Stars), the "Pick the Money Show," and "Baraka.".

He presented at Radio 2 for 33 years, where he presented the popular Saturday morning programme 'De zoete inval'.

Luc Appermont is a Flemish radio host and television presenter who became famous for the many shows he presented on the then BRT and later on VTM.

Besides his presentation work, Appermont is also involved in charity work. He is an ambassador for Cunina, an organization that helps children from slums around the world.

In 2022, Luc received the certificate for honorary citizen of the city of Bilzen during the television program "James the musical", in an episode about his own life.

Appermont has been married to Flemish singer Bart Kaëll since 2015. The couple celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2018 with the stage show "Bart & Luc Intiem.".

In September 1990, he left the public broadcaster and moved to the commercial broadcaster VTM. He started there with the daily quiz show "Waagstuk." Later, he also released the talk shows "Luc, U beslist" (Luck, You Decide) and "Het mooiste moment" (The Most Beautiful Moment). In February 2007, the contract between VTM and Luc Appermont was not renewed. Luc was initially considered for the presenter of "Stars on the Dance Floor," but was eventually replaced by Jacques Vermeire.

He also presented Eurosong, the Flemish preliminary rounds for the Eurovision Song Contest, several times.

Luc Appermont started working for the radio station Omroep Antwerp as a student in 1969. He then joined Omroep Limburg, Omroep West Flanders, and Omroep East Flanders, other regional stations of Radio 2, in 1970.

In 1972 he graduated from the cabaret department of Studio Herman Teirlinck.

At one point he even had his jawbone broken to get a nice set of teeth.

From 1976 to 1990, he was the commentator for BRT (later VRT) for the Dutch-speaking region at the Eurovision Song Contest .

Appermont, at various points, also hosted the Belgian versions of both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune.
