- He attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, serving with the East Surrey Regiment from 1952 to 1955, before dropping out of the Army. Antrobus subsequently worked for a time as a supply teacher and waiter. His writing career began after meeting Spike Milligan in the mid-50s. Among his first output were two scripts for the popular Goon Show on radio.
