Following his death, he was interred with his son Matthew Ansara at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Hollywood Hills) in Los Angeles, California.

On Monday, June 25, 2001, his son Matthew Ansara (with second wife Barbara Eden) died of an accidental drug overdose at age 35. His body was found in his car in a parking lot off a freeway in Los Angeles, California.

Had one son with Barbara Eden: Matthew Ansara (born August 29, 1965 - died June 25, 2001).

He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6666 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California on February 8, 1960.

Early in his career, he was identified as being an Egyptian when in actuality he was born in Syria.

Along with Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Armin Shimerman, John de Lancie, Richard Poe and Mark Allen Shepherd, he was one of only seven actors to play the same character in three different live-action "Star Trek" series. He played Kang in Star Trek (1966), Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) and Star Trek: Voyager (1995).

He played the same character (Mr. Freeze / Dr. Victor Fries) on three different series: Batman: The Animated Series (1992), The New Batman Adventures (1997) and Batman Beyond (1999).

Received his Associate of Arts degree from Los Angeles City College.

Along with Kevin Hagen, Torin Thatcher, John Crawford, Malachi Throne, Bart La Rue and Jerry Catron, he is one of only seven actors to appear in all four of Irwin Allen's science fiction series: Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1964), Lost in Space (1965), The Time Tunnel (1966) and Land of the Giants (1968).

Though often cast as Native American characters, he was actually of Lebanese descent.
