- Richard Angst was born on July 23, 1905 in Zurich, Switzerland. He was a cinematographer and director, known for The White Hell of Pitz Palu (1929), The Tiger of Eschnapur (1959) and Kokumin no chikai (1938). He died on July 24, 1984 in Berlin, Germany.
- His occupation led Richard Angst to different countries in the next few years, among others he photographed documentaries in Borneo, the Himalayas and in Japan.
