He was a writer, known for L'Italiana in Algeri, Dramma giocoso per musica in due atti di Angelo Anelli (2007), The Metropolitan Opera Presents (1977) and Donizetti: Don Pasquale (1977). He died on April 9, 1820 in Pavia, Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia, Austrian Empire [now Lombardy, Italy].
- Wrote more than 40 librettos, sometimes using real-life situations for the plot.
- Professor of Forensic Oratory in Milan from 1808 to 1816. Later, Professor of Judicial Procedure in Pavia.
