Biography

Peter Anders was born on July 1, 1908 in Essen, Germany. He was an actor, known for Nacht ohne Abschied (1943) and Three Non-Coms (1939). He was married to Susanne Mysz-Gmeiner. He died on September 10, 1954 in Hamburg, Germany.

German tenor. He was a great interpreter of German "Lied": his recording of Franz Schubert "Winterreise" is still now a masterpiece in whole recorded music.

Peter Anders was married to the soprano Susanne Mysz (1909-1979), daughter of his voice teacher Lula Mysz Gmeiner. The couple's daughter is singer and actress Sylvia Anders (born 17 March 1943 in Berlin).
