António Alçada Baptista was born on January 29, 1927 in Covilhã, Portugal. He was an actor and writer, known for Prata da Casa (1980), The Jester (1987) and Noites de Gala (1987). He was married to Maria José Coutinho Guedes. He died on December 7, 2008 in Lisbon, Portugal.

He's graduated in Law and is a writer.

Grandchildren: Sofia and André (Marta's children), Ana, Maria and Matilde (Rita's daughters) and José, Pedro and Inês (Inês's children).
