Biography

Dave Alvin was born on November 11, 1955 in Downey, California, USA. He is an actor and composer, known for Cry-Baby (1990), Wall Street (1987) and From Dusk Till Dawn (1996).

Guitarist, songwriter for the seminal 1980s blues rock band, The Blasters. When he left the band after a disagreement with his brother, lead singer Philip Alvin, he launched a solo career as a singer and producer. He won a Grammy in the Best Traditional Folk album category in 2001.
