José Alvarenga Junior is a director of commercials, films, and television programs. He also works as a producer and screenwriter. He is known for his work on the iconic series Normal People (2001) (2002), In Therapy (2009) (2009), Internal Affairs (2009) (2009), Supermax (2016) (2016), and Maldivas (2022) (2021 - Netflix). In 2009, Alvarenga was named one of the most influential Brazilians of the year by Época magazine.
