- Jenny Alpha was born on April 22, 1910 in Fort de France, Martinique. She was an actress, known for Une femme, une époque (1978), La vieille quimboiseuse et le majordome (1987) and The Burning Shore (1991). She died on September 8, 2010 in Paris, France.
- She lives in Paris and she's still very active in Theater, being today the doyen of French actresses. Her recent performance: La Cerisaie (Tchekov) directed by Jean-René Lemoine.
- As well as appearing in theatre, she displayed a variety of talent and became a successful singer, appearing alongside the likes of Duke Ellington and Josephine Baker.
- On 1 January 2009 she was granted the title of Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur by the French government,.
