Biography

Claud Allister was born on October 3, 1888 in London, England, UK. He was an actor, known for Bulldog Drummond (1929), Bulldog Drummond at Bay (1937) and The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949). He was married to Daisy Isabel Douglas Overend (aka Dorothy Overend, actress), Barbara Fay and Gwen Dowling. He died on July 26, 1970 in Santa Barbara, California, USA.

Long-nosed British character actor with large, deep-set eyes and high forehead. A former clerk at the London Stock exchange, educated at Felsted School in Essex. On stage in London from 1910, on Broadway from 1924. Invariably specialised in portraying pompous or bumbling upper class twits - replete with monocle and top hat - both in his native England, and in Hollywood.

Retired in 1955.
