Dede Allen started her career as a messenger at Columbia Pictures. She
graduated to being a sound cutter and assistant editor. Her first job
as a film editor was for director
Robert Wise, and since then, she has
achieved a reputation as one of the most stylish and creative editors
in the American film industry.
