Biography

Ted Allan was born on January 26, 1916 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was a writer and actor, known for Bethune: The Making of a Hero (1990), It Rained All Night the Day I Left (1980) and Lies My Father Told Me (1975). He was married to Kate Schwartz. He died on June 29, 1995 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Canadian-Jewish playwright and screenwriter. During the 1930's, worked in Montreal as a journalist for the leftist Canadian publication The Daily Clarion. In 1937, Allan joined the Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion to fight fascism during the Spanish Civil War.
