Biography

Tony Alizzi (born Robert Allen) founded MSR (Male Sexual Research) Video in 1999. Originally intended to produce only specialty leather videos, MSR was expanded by Alizzi and developed into a small boutique studio.

Alizzi grew up in New Jersey and worked for a number of years as a set designer for film and television before founding MSR. In 2002 MSR formed an alliance with legendary director Tim Kincaid (aka Joe Gage) and also produced White Trash (2002), which eventually became one of the studio's highest-selling and most critically acclaimed titles; in May 2003 the film won nine "Adult Video News" GayVN Awards, more than any other video. Other top MSR titles include Manhattan Sex Party (2001), Don't Ask, Don't Tell! (2000),Sex Pigs (2003), Studs 'N Pups (2004) and the "Prowl" series of leather videos.

He died of a heart attack on January 3, 2005. He was cremated and his ashes interred in New Jersey, where he was born and raised. Per his wishes, MSR Videos remains open.

January 2006: Following the release of Tony Alizzi's final films as director/producer (including _Hell Room (2005)_ and the final "Prowl" films), his estate sold the copyrights to the existing MSR Videos catalog to Titan Media, which will handle all aspects of promotion and distribution of the existing films. It is unlikely any new films will be produced under the MSR Videos label.
