She had met him before the war when he was a jazz trumpeter in Pigalle. He would protect Jewish artists such as the actor Henry Murray, father of Anouk Aimée .

Michèle Alfa was one of the most adored stars of the Occupation. Attending a performance of Henri Bernstein 's "Félix" at the 'Théâtre du Gymnase' in Paris at the age of fifteen, played by the very popular Gaby Morlay, she had the revelation of her vocation as an actress.

In an attempt to revive her career, on December 22, 1963, she took part in a RTF television show "From Dream to Reality" during which she welcomed Monika, a child from Public Assistance, who dreamed of having a family for Christmas.
