Biography

Edesio Alejandro was born on March 28, 1958 in Havana, Cuba. He was a composer and director, known for Mambo Man (2020), Havana Suite (2003) and The Whole Ten Yards (2004). He was married to Idolka de Erviti. He died on March 5, 2025 in Madrid, Spain.

Edesio, who held Spanish citizenship, left for Spain in 2021 because he could not access medical treatment for his illness in Cuba, due to the healthcare crisis that the Island is facing.

Prominent figure in Cuban music, well-recognized both in his country and internationally. Innovative and versatile, his work spanned genres such as rock and electronic music, and he was also a prolific composer of soundtracks for film and television.
