Biography

Maryse Alberti is a French cinematographer. She is best known for her work in Velvet Goldmine (1998), The Wrestler (2008), Stone (2010), Creed (2015) and the HBO film My Dinner with Hervé (2018).

She also work as a cinematographer in The Visit (2015).

With one take, I think you don't need to rely on movie editing to dictate emotion. When it's well done, when it's not virtuosity, when it's not too self-aware, it's powerful. Ryan [director Ryan Coogler] very much wanted to stay in the realm of reality and seeing the boxer alone in the ring. Once you're in the ring, you don't have teammates. You are alone.
