Salim Akhtar was an Indian film producer renowned for his significant contributions to Bollywood during the 1970s and 1980s. He passed away on April 8, 2025, in Mumbai.

Throughout his career, Akhtar produced several notable films that left a lasting impact on the Indian film industry. Among his most acclaimed works are "Phool Aur Angaare" (1993), "Qayamat" (1983), and "Aadmi" (1993). In 1997, he launched the career of actress Rani Mukerji by producing her debut film, "Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat." He also introduced Tamannaah Bhatia to cinema with "Chand Sa Roshan Chehra" in 2005.
