Born in 1962 in Taft, Province of Yazd, Iran, Mohammad Ahmadi is a graduate of photography from Tehran University's faculty of Fine Arts and he's participated in eight photography exhibitions and published two books of photos, including one on Gabbeh, a film by Mohsen Makhmalbaf. He started his career at the Young Iranian Cinema Society, Yazd Office since 1983 and he was firstly involved in film business as a still photographer in 1992. Ahmadi has already directed two feature films and four documentaries, has produced 14 films, has been Director of Photography of 11 feature and three short films; production manager of 14 feature films, including 12 films by Makhmalbaf's family; still photographer of 10 feature films and has received 16 national and international awards for his films too. He produced The Skier, an APSA nominee in 2017 for Best Youth Feature Film.
