Biography

Around 1970, he was associated with the poet Julio Miranda and his wife Rosaline Paulink, who encouraged him to take classes with the theater photographer Miguel Gracia. He begins to take pictures in filming of commercials, studio portraits and literary magazines such as Zona Franca, Nuevas Letras, etc. Its beginning in the cinema is with the group PPCA cinema, with directors like Juan Santana, Alfredo Anzola and Fernando Toro. From 1979 until 1995 he was distinguished by his work as Director of Photography in several lengths and Venezuelan short films as "Jericó", "Naked with Oranges", later continued to exercise the direction of photography with less intensity to gradually dedicate himself to the documentary realization. He is the author of an extensive filmography in several formats.

He is currently a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology and a professor of documentary film at the Universidad de los Andes, in the city of Mérida, Venezuela.
