Biography

Nika Agiashvili is a Georgian-American writer, director, and producer based in Los Angeles, California. He is the writer and director of Atlas King, starring Michael Bisping, Cuba Gooding Jr., George Finn, Anne Winters, Sarah Wayne Callies, and Lara Wolf. Agiashvili is also a co-founder of Punch It Films, a Los Angeles-based production company focused on action-driven films.

Agiashvili launched Punch It Films at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival alongside actor and former UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping, actor George Finn, and producer John Edward Lee. The company was founded with the goal of developing and producing commercially driven action films with authentic connections to the world of combat sports.

Named after his grandfather, a renowned Georgian novelist, Agiashvili grew up in a family of writers and filmmakers. His father, David Agiashvili, was a prominent Georgian film and television editor and executive. At the age of five, Nika was cast in the feature film Modi, vilaparakot (1986), beginning a lifelong fascination with filmmaking. Growing up around film sets and productions further shaped his interest in writing and directing.

After relocating to Los Angeles, Agiashvili wrote, produced, and directed his debut feature, The Harsh Life of Veronica Lambert (2009), which screened at numerous film festivals. He followed with A Green Story, starring Ed O'Ross, George Finn, Billy Zane, Annabella Sciorra, Shannon Elizabeth, and Malcolm McDowell. The film premiered as the opening-night selection of the 6th Annual Los Angeles Greek Film Festival at the Egyptian Theatre before receiving a worldwide theatrical release in 2013.

In 2014, Agiashvili wrote, directed, and produced Tbilisi, I Love You, part of Emmanuel Benbihy's Cities of Love franchise, following Paris, je t'aime and New York, I Love You. The film starred Ron Perlman, Malcolm McDowell, George Finn, Sarah Dumont, and numerous prominent Georgian actors and actresses. It premiered in North America at the 10th Annual South East European Film Festival before its worldwide release.

In 2018, Agiashvili wrote and executive-produced Daughter of the Wolf, starring Academy Award winner Richard Dreyfuss, Gina Carano, and Brendan Fehr. The film was released worldwide in 2019 and received three Canadian Screen Award nominations.

In 2021, Agiashvili wrote and directed the short film Delilah, starring Rainey Qualley, George Finn, and Timothy V. Murphy. The film screened at more than sixty film festivals and received over thirty awards.

In 2025, Agiashvili wrote and directed Atlas King, his latest feature film. Starring Michael Bisping, Cuba Gooding Jr., George Finn, Anne Winters, Sarah Wayne Callies, and Lara Wolf, the film premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Saban Films acquired the U.S. distribution rights in 2026, while Highland Film Group handles worldwide sales.
