Biography

Mara Abrantes was born on May 31, 1934 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was an actress and composer, known for Malandros em Quarta Dimensão (1954), Chico Fumaça (1958) and Angu de Caroço (1955). She died on April 28, 2021 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Great friend of Edayr Badaró, whom she accompanied in his suffering last days. They were both Brazilians and had arrived in Portugal at the same time.

Lives in Portugal since 1958.

She pursued a successful career as a singer, especially in the 60s.

Involved in volunteering activities in IPO (Instituto Português de Oncologia), Lisbon, a portuguese public institution dedicated to the treatment of cancer.
