  • Dana Kaproff is an award-winning film composer, songwriter, and record producer who has scored over one hundred feature films, series, mini-series, and documentaries. His work spans a wide range of genres, including drama, crime, romance, comedy, horror, action-adventure, fantasy, and non-fiction, with credits for HBO, Showtime, CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, PBS, Paramount, Universal, and Warner Bros.

    A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for over 35 years, Kaproff has collaborated with notable filmmakers including Sam Fuller, Samuel Goldwyn Jr., Academy Award winners Walter Mirisch, Dick Richards, and Peter Werner, as well as several Emmy and Golden Globe recipients.

    Recent projects include the Sundance U.S. Documentary Competition entry Who Killed Alex Odeh? (dirs. Jason Osder and Will Youmans), Ric Burns’ Oliver Sacks: His Own Life for PBS American Masters, Showtime’s Gringo: The Dangerous Life of John McAfee (dir. Nanette Burstein), and The Amityville Murders (dir. by Daniel Farrands).

    In addition to his film work, Kaproff remains active in the recording industry. He recently released the downtempo album Degrees of Desire, featuring Grammy-nominated vocalist Somi. His bossa nova song Passo A Passo, co-written with Bianca Rossini, has surpassed 1.5 million streams.

    The son of a prominent Los Angeles studio musician, Kaproff was immersed early in the world of film scoring, attending recording sessions at Capitol Records, Paramount, and MGM, and later working alongside composers Elmer Bernstein, Jerry Goldsmith, and John Barry.
