He did his best work as Cinematographer for such directors as Pier Paolo Pasolini, Sergio Leone and Federico Fellini. He shot Totò a colori (1952) (Toto' a Colori), the first Italian movie in color. Delli Colli is most fondly remembered for his sweeping, panoramic landscapes and detailed close-ups of actors' faces in the seminal spaghetti western The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966).
