Brian Austin Green was born Brian Green on July 15, 1973 in Los Angeles, California to Joyce Green (née Klein) and George Green. He has a brother, Keith, and a sister, Lorelei. Brian's father was a Country & Western artist and used to frequently take him along to gigs and soon got him interested in the world of music. His first full-time television acting job was the role of "Brian Cunningham" on Knots Landing (1979) between 1986 and 1989. He later went on to star as "David Silver" in the long-running teen show Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990). He also appeared in several television movies, such as Her Costly Affair (1996) and Unwed Father (1997) and guest-starred on other shows such as Saved by the Bell: The College Years (1993) and Sabrina the Teenage Witch (1996). He released an album in 1996 called "One Stop Carnival" and still continues to work on producing music, especially hip-hop, with his production company and in his home studio. More recently, he has had roles as "Luke Bonner" in Resurrection Blvd. (2000) as well as in independent films as "Randy Mecklin" in Purgatory Flats (2003) and "Jack O'Malley" in Cock & Bull Story (2002). He was engaged to his Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990) co-star Vanessa Marcil and the couple have a son named Kassius Lijah Marcil-Green (born March 15, 2002).

During the making of BH90210 (2019), he called up his co-star Shannen Doherty, wanting to party with her (since it had been 25 years since they worked together on television) and she denied and revealed to him that she was privately battling Stage 4 cancer (that had returned). They both 'kept mum' about it until February the following year, when Doherty disclosed it.
Since October 2020, Green has been in a relationship with professional dancer Sharna Burgess after being arranged by mutual friends. They got engaged on July 15, 2023: his 50th birthday.
Has 5 sons: Kassius Marcil-Green (b. March 15, 2002) with ex-fiancée, Vanessa Marcil, Noah Green (b. September 27, 2012), Bodhi Green (b. February 12, 2014) & Journey Green (b. August 4, 2016) with ex-wife, Megan Fox and Zane Green (b. June 28, 2022) with fiancée, Sharna Burgess.
His paternal grandmother was born in Indiana, to Italian parents. He also has English, Irish, Scottish, Hungarian, and Cherokee Native American ancestry.

My name is Brian Green by birth. Austin was made up by my parents when I was nine, because there was another Brian Green in the Screen Actors Guild.
[on his early acting career] A lot of student directors used to pick other students to be in their graduate films, so. I ended up doing a couple of them just for fun. Eventually, I got an agent through a friend and I did some commercials; then I got 'Knots Landing'.
[on what lead him into his big break] I did some commercials and a couple of B movies, then a few pilots that didn't go anywhere. Eventually I did the pilot for Beverly Hills, 90210. The rest is history.
