During filming of The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999), it took camera people three times to shoot Emily's character Rachel using her telekinetic powers to shatter glass. The first time, Emily flinched, and the second time she showed her teeth. The third time, they were able to finish the scene as they wanted it with her showing no reaction in her face. Real glass, shattered by the blowers and used for Dante's Peak (1997), was used for this scene, and Emily received cuts on her skin after the shooting.

She played a one-quarter alien woman in both Taken (2002) and the Star Trek: Enterprise (2001) episode North Star (2003).

Emily Bergl's cabaret show, 'Kidding on the Square', opened at the historic Algonquin Oak Room in New York City. Her CD, 'Emily Bergl Live at the Algonquin', was the last performance ever to be recorded live at the renowned venue. (August 2011)

Her mother, Roberta "Ruby" J. Bergl, died on 10 September 2017 at age 73, less than four months after Emily gave birth to her daughter, Eleanor.
