Biography

Tom Tangen was born in Jackson, Minnesota. His parents were Bernie Tangen and Jan Clark Tangen Nestingen. He attended Glenwood City High School and The University of Wisconsin-River Falls. His debut film was Purple Rain (1984). He was the founder of the St. Croix Valley Actors Theatre and also The Los Angeles, Actors Coalition.

Tom Tangen is the President of the Hollywood Appreciation Society which was founded in 1937 by the first President Gary Cooper and founding members Charles Buddy Rogers and Clara Bow. He is an executive board member of the Southern California Motion Picture Council and a recipient of the Golden Halo Lifetime achievement Award.
