Biography

Brent Crowell is a Canadian producer, writer, and director with over 30 years of experience in film and television, and the president of Ocean Playground Productions.

He began his career with the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation before moving to Vancouver in 1991, where he built his foundation on set and spent years as a First Assistant Director. That experience continues to shape his approach to production-balancing creative intent with practical execution.

His producing credits span studio and streaming series, including The Flash, Lost Ollie, Reginald the Vampire, Sight Unseen, The Spencer Sisters, and Private Eyes: West Coast. On Lost Ollie, he also directed second unit. The series received multiple Children’s and Family Emmy Awards.

While he continues to direct, his primary focus is producing-developing material, assembling teams, and guiding projects from concept through delivery with a clear creative and operational strategy.

In 2026, Ocean Playground is developing Evangeline, a historical epic inspired by Longfellow’s poem.

Brent directed the sequence in Crisis on Infinite Earths in which Ezra Miller's feature-film Flash meets Grant Gustin's television Flash-the first crossover between DC's film universe and the Arrowverse.
