Biography

Michael Huens was born in Dallas, Texas. After attending the University of Texas, Michael moved to Los Angeles. He has produced features with directors such as Michael Polish (Jackpot), Eriq La Salle (Crazy as Hell), Chris Eyre (A Thousand Roads, California Indian), Anthony Onah (The Price), Alex Merkin (House of Bodies, Percentage), Lily Mariye (Model Minority) and Fred Kennamer (Not Again!). All together his movies have won The Independent Spirit Award (John Cassavetes Award) for Best Picture, Seattle Film Festival Best Picture and have appeared in over 100 festivals worldwide including Sundance, SXSW and Seattle. Michael continues to develop projects through his company, Wolves at the Door Films. In addition, Michael has produced over 250 commercials, (over 50 listed below), shot all over the world, working with directors such as Spike Lee, Kinka Usher, Marty Callner and Marcus Nispel for almost every type of major product including Pepsi, Coor's, Microsoft, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Yoshinoya, Toyota, Sprite, Target, Konica, ATT, Wells Fargo, Kodak, Minolta, Reach, World Wildlife Fund, Ricoh and many others. Michael has also been a featured speaker for Panel Events concerning Independent Film at Film Independent in Los Angeles, The Univ. of Oklahoma and Loyola Marymount. He has been written up in Post Magazine for his knowledge of Post. He has also served as a juror at the Woods Hole Film Festival. He loves to run and hike.
