Biography

Stephen Marinaccio is a seasoned Line Producer, DGA Unit Production Manager, and Second Unit Director with over 35 years of global experience. Having managed budgets ranging from $300k indie gems to $200M studio tentpoles, Marinaccio has established a reputation for executing complex logistical plans across more than 30 countries.

His career began in broadcast news, where he became the youngest News Director in the history of his local CBS affiliate. However, his passion for narrative storytelling led him to Hollywood, where he rapidly ascended from Set PA to Line Producer. His pivotal break came in 2001, working under James Cameron as UPM for the Mexico Unit of Ghosts of the Abyss. He would go on to collaborate with Cameron’s team on two subsequent projects, cementing his expertise in high-stakes, technically demanding shoots.

His executive leadership was honed as the VP of Production & Post for Steve McEveety (producer of Braveheart), where he oversaw a diverse slate of films and managed Academy Award campaigns. In the streaming era, Marinaccio has been at the forefront of large-scale international television. He served as the Lead UPM for Netflix’s Marco Polo-the highest-budgeted premiere season in television history at the time-and later for Amazon’s Jack Ryan, orchestrating filming across nine countries in a single season.

In 2016, Marinaccio was tapped as interim VP of Television Production at Paramount, shepherding hit series including 13 Reasons Why and The Alienist to greenlight. To date, his credits encompass over 80 film, television, and documentary projects. He continues to consult, produce, and manage global productions with a focus on efficiency, safety, and creative integrity.

In 2021, Marinaccio partnered with fellow producer Matthew Cuny to design Line Budgeter, the next-generation budgeting platform for the entertainment industry. The software launched in March 2026. Combining decades of physical production experience with modern tech, the platform offers a fully featured solution designed to modernize how productions worldwide are planned and financed.

Meanwhile, his focus remains on storytelling. Building on years of experience as a Second Unit Director where he helmed large-scale sequences for major projects, Marinaccio is slated to make his feature directorial debut in 2027 with an original project filming in Thailand.
