  • Tia Nolan was born and raised in a film loving family. Her father, Robert Nolan, worked in advertising at Leo Burnett in Chicago. He loved movies and would often show her the classics on his 16mm film projector from prints he bought a movie conventions. Her father was the director John Hughes's boss when John was in the ad game so Tia was exposed to film industry greats at an early age. After studying film at USC, Tia started in the film business in the early 1990’s moving up the ranks from apprentice editor to assistant and finally to editor. She got her big break editing Bewitched (2005) with Nora Ephron and from there she built a career in comedies with films like Friends with Benefits (2011), Annie (2014), How To Be Single (2016), I Feel Pretty (2018), Superintelligence (2020) and Thunder Force (2021), Anyone But You (2023) and One of Them Days (2025). During that time, Tia dipped her toe into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as an Additional Editor on Avengers: End Game (2019), and returned as editor for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). Tia teamed up for a fourth time with director Will Gluck for the recent romantic comedy, One Night Only(2026). Most recently, Tia edited the upcoming book adaption of The Love Hypothesis for Amazon Studios and MRC. Tia is very proud of the fact that she has made a career out of making people laugh and fall in love.
