Biography

Production Designer Oana Bogdan Miller has an extensive background in Art Direction, Creature Effects and Interior Design. As a Production Designer, she has contributed to TV series including "Justified" for FX, "Dark Blue" for TNT, "The Ex List" for CBS and "Kamen Rider - Dragon Knight" for the CW network. She has also designed several short film projects and a public service announcement. Her first Creature Effects project which launched her film career in 1992 was Roland Emmerich's "Stargate". From that beginning, Oana has worked as a producer and art director of creature and special effects on films such as "Underworld 1 & 2", "Sky High", "I, Robot", "Stuart Little" and "Godzilla". As an art director, Oana has contributed to projects including "Mindhunter", "Castle Rock", "Justified", "Hawaii 5-0", "Four Christmases", "Criminal Minds", "Cold Case", "Without a Trace", "24", "Vanilla Sky", and several Linkin Park music videos.

In 2009 Oana founded "PAINT:LAB" a local art studio, open to the public to encourage people of all ages to express their creativity through paint on canvas. The studio is also a versatile space for events and parties including birthday parties, fund-raisers and art openings.

Oana studied Interior Design at Syracuse University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1990. She was born in Bucharest, Romania, spent 2 years in Algeria and several months in Austria, before her family immigrated to New York City.
