Biography

Jerome Bixby was born on January 11, 1923 in Los Angeles County, California, USA. He was a writer and composer, known for The Man from Earth (2007), Star Trek (1966) and Fantastic Voyage (1966). He died on April 28, 1998 in San Bernardino, California, USA.

The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) episode "The Emperor's New Cloak" was dedicated to him as this was the final episode of DS9's Mirror Universe saga, which followed up from The Original Series episode "Mirror, Mirror", which was written by Bixby.

The Star Trek: Voyager (1995) episode "One Small Step" was dedicated to him.

Studied piano and composition at the Juilliard School of Music.

Published short fiction in magazines under the pseudonym "Alger Rome" while collaborating with Algis Budrys.

Father of Emerson Bixby, Leonardo Brook Bixby and Russell Albert Ludwig Bixby.
