Played Bail Organa in "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" but his scenes were left on the cutting room floor. Later on promo shots of Dunbar in costume were used to portray the character of Bail Antilles.

The eldest of seven siblings in a Roman Catholic family, Dunbar was educated by the Irish Christian Brothers at St. Joseph's College in his native Enniskillen, County Fermanagh (Northern Ireland). He later graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (Class of 1983).
