- Olivier de Funès was born on 11 August 1949 in Paris, France. He is the youngest son of the world famous comedian Louis de Funès and Jeanne de Funès, who is believed to be a grandniece of the great French author Guy de Maupassant. Although he starred alongside his father in some of his movies, Olivier didn't share his passion to be an actor. Instead he followed his dream and became an airline pilot for Air France. In 1977, Olivier married Dominique Watrin and they have 3 children. Together with his older brother, Patrick published a book in 2005 in loving memory of their father, named: 'Louis de Funès : Ne parlez pas trop de moi, les enfants'. Despite his brief but memorable film career, Olivier starred alongside remarkable actors such as Geraldine Chaplin, Jean Marais, Mylène Demongeot, Bernard Blier.

- After co-starring in several of his father's films, often playing his son (appropriately enough), Olivier De Funès realized he didn't have the stamina to make it in the film business (as he says himself) and left show biz to realize his true dream and become a commercial airline pilot for Air France.
