Life After Oil International Film Festival

Motivation: The director, Tina Ahmadi Król, uses the domestic setting as a powerful metaphor for Iranian society and the ability of women to become protagonists in the struggle for their rights. The three women, from three different generations, over the course of the film experience a dramatic moment that unites them and sees them participate equally and with equal dignity.The narrative in this form takes on an intimate and human dimension, which immerses the viewer in a reality known to the news but which we feel on our skin with difficulty. The director's merit lies precisely in her ability to bring us closer to the sensory dimension of that pain, managing to paint with lights, sounds and images the deepest meaning of life, death and freedom.
